Latin America: Political Leadership Program

Since 1999, NDI’s Political Leadership Program has encouraged modernization and renewal within 49 participating parties from 10 Latin American countries by strengthening the leadership skills of emerging leaders.

Participants have included legislators, municipal councilors, state chapter party presidents, policy advisors, youth secretaries and party trainers. Participating countries have included Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela. The one-year program begins with a leadership development seminar in the region and continues in-country with emerging leaders implementing concrete party-strengthening projects.
